I’m 18 6’1 and 162 pounds but I’m still pudgy??(pictures)

I’m so confused on what to do..I don’t know if I should cut or bulk. I still have fat in my stomach and I have love handles. Do people in Classic Physique division, consume less steroids than Man's Open?

Pretty much the title, i've fall in love with Bodybuilding, specially Classic Physique and i think that maybe i will compete when i grew up so i wanted to know if they do inject that much of steroids and if their health is good or semi good at least. Confused about calories and fat loss?

I am currently building muscle but im flabby (23% BF). It is to my under standing that i have to maintain a calorie surplus to gain muscle. However i would like to do some HIT cardio burn off my love handles. Will doing the cardio just burn calories and defeat the point of eating the extra calories to gain muscle or burn fat ? Pause Overhead Press, top or bottom? Should I change grips when doing this exercise?

Hey, Thank you in advance. I'm not sure which one to do in my next shoulder workout (pausing OHP top or bottom), some people recommend doing both each rep. Vegan Bodybuilding

Hey there, I'm a German (so excuse my English please) guy and I watched a Markus Rühl-Video. In that video he talked about vegan nutrition and said that he is fine with vegans and that he's not against vegan nutrition. But he also said, that you can't be a (Pro-)Bodybuilder who does not eat any Kind of animal products. I think he is right. There are some pretty muscular vegan guys, but I don't think there are any sucessful vegan pros. However some/most vegans went ape shit in the comments and said, that he has no idea what he's talking about. What are your opinions/expierences? This a good balance of movements?

I’m stuck in the more is better situation where I’m doing more accessory’s then I should. What is a optimal way to set it up? I’m over thinking it a lot so would getting rid of all the bi/tri movement just make this more efficient for example just do my 5/3/1 sets then my bbb sets and then idk 5x10 dips ss with barbell curls and maybe pec flys and call it a day It’s 5/3/1 bbb my lifts are 240 bench, 140 ohp( this seems so hard to progress lol), squat 320, dl 350. I’m switching to fsl after my deload week but looking for help to pick what movements to do that are the most optimal for the my 50-100 reps of a push, pull etc? Chest day: 5/3/1 bench, incline bench 5x10 (or shoulder press not sure if I should keep shoulder with shoulder day or not), weight dips 5x10, 3x12 pec flys, 3x12 face pulls, 2 different bi/tri excercies supersetted Squat today: 5/3/1 squat, deadlift 5x10( or should I switch this to squat), good mornings/back extensions, pendlay rows/ barbell rows , leg extension

Why do so many bodybuilders have heart, knee, back problems?

Some of them look very old, even though they are relativley young, also with that orange skin, looks weird. I went to the gym everyday for like 40 minutes since 2 weeks and I feel good and all but this just made me think... also I had some back pain and tingly/itchy feeling in the heart area, so I stopped and lost my motivation and I’m starting to think I’m better off not working out. I’d like to be proven wrong though. Anyone successfully transform back with bad genetics (fatty, rounded, narrow sloping shoulders) into an awesome back?

I see pics of bodybuilders before they got big and you can tell their back genetics are good from the start. Even before they started lifting their backs had little fat on them, wide shoulders, and good muscle insertions. So it makes sense that they develope these beautiful ripped backs. I have bad back genetics myself. Lots of fat stored at the love handles and behind my shoulder and armpits. I also don’t have broad shoulders, my shoulders slope down and are not wide. Any advice on how to even out my muscles?

First off I’ll say that I did read the rules and that if this isn’t allowed mods delete it but I thought this was the best place to ask cause it’s a bit of a strange question. So for a while I’ve noticed that my left shoulders and especially traps are much smaller than on the right side so I’ve been doing a lot of excercise focusing on just my left shoulder but it doesn’t seem to really be working and in fact the gap in size seems to get even worse so I was wondering if anyone here had any advice on how to sort this out. Is building legs impossible for some people?

Hey, first of all im a newbie, watching some videos few days back i came across a comment that had 100s of likes, it said "If you are an indian just give up" needless to say the video was about how to build bigger legs, so my legs have always been skinny as hell, like freakishly skinny, my question is do those people that say they work out every day squats etc and still have skinny legs say the truth? Should i not bother at all? Is genetics that much of a factor in building legs, is there a difference scientifically between building upper body muscles and lower ones? Never got to bodybuilding seriously but ive mostly worked out, some weight lifting etc and ive only seen improvement in the upperbody, but im guessing its cause im not trying hard enough when doing legs cause i always feel so tired doing them, thanx in advance!!! To the people who repaired their backs after herniated/bulging disc injuries, to the point you can lift heavy again without pain, how did you do it?

I've had a bulging disc for years from deadlifting. Before that I used to lift 6 days a week. I haven't lifted heavy or much since. Whenever I tried I would just get horrible sciatica and back pain. I've been doing cardio (low impact spin bike and some stairmaster) and core exercises sporadically and I have to admit I haven't seen much progress in recovery. I know alot of that is due to lack of consistency but still I wasn't getting encouraged. I know strengthening the core is the way to get to better. But how exactly do I do this? How did you do this? What regiment did you use and what exercises were you performing and how often? Did you do these core exercises through pain? Did you lift through pain? Were you doing cardio? If so, what kind? Quickly about me: Male 36 y/o 5'11 height 240 weight ​ Roughly 4 months ago, I've decided to lose some weight and gain some muscles to be able to play hockey better. I'm just too fat to be fast on the ice, so I've decided to go to the gym 3x times per week, on top of my 3-4 hockey games per week. ​ I did a lot of research, mostly by watching YouTube videos, and started to eat right. No fast food or alcohol. Neck Flexion exercise hurts the back of my neck

I've started doing next flexion work to help with my forward head posture. I usually hang my head off the end of my bed and do neck curls with my chin tucked - its a well recommend exercise for improving the muscle strength at the front of my neck. Only issue being, I get pain at the back of my neck almost where my suboccipitals are. Wondered whether this is normal? I cant tell whether the exercise is stretching the overly tight muscles at the back of the head or whether they're kicking in due to the weak muscles at the front. Has anyone dealt with this before? Tongue Workout

While I was in the shower today I thought I'd put extra emphasis on a muscle I don't usually train that often. We all use our tongues on a daily basis for speaking, breathing, spitting, etc. Based on this, I concluded that the 25 to 40 rep-range with very little rest and moderately heavy resistance would probably be the best strategy for any of the mouth muscles. As with any exercise, be sure to get the most out of every set and try to hold for 1 to 2 seconds at peak contraction. I started out with a strengthening exercise, putting 2 fingers at the tip of my tongue and driving it back into my throat with not much force on the eccentric. I would then tense my tongue to push my fingers back on the concentric. When doing this exercise be sure to not push back too far as to choke yourself and to lose tension on the muscle. Just go as far back as you can while it's still tight. I'd also like to note that you can use more than 2 fingers to get a grip on the tip of your ton

App Comparisons

I've been lifting for 3 years. [48 y/o M.] I've had a couple of personal trainers, but I prefer iPhone apps. I started with BodyBuilding.com's BodySpace. I used it for 2 years. It was a pretty-good tracker, it looks good, and has a ton of recommended workouts. It did have a couple of glitches with the tech, but no more than most apps. After two years, I got bored, so I switched to JeFit. I stuck with JeFit for a few months. It was very similar to BodySpace in its functionality and gloss. It didn’t have a great social function. And its reports were too complicated. Overall, it was too similar to BodyBuilding.com. It’s just a “tracker” too. I gave up on it after just a couple of months. I was then drawn to Dr Muscle because of its artificial intelligence (AI). It uses a very complex algorithm to tell you how much weight to lift for how many reps and sets to do. How do you feel in your posing suit?

I ordered a few suits for open bb. First one came in the mail and I feel like my dick is rolled into a ball, and it looks like it’s rolled into a ball. Like I look down, and i feel like my dick is sticking out way too much, but when I took pics of myself it seemed pretty normal...? Also my ass and wiener both feel like they’re falling out. Is this pretty normal? The suit is tight, and has good elastic to hold things in, so maybe it’s just in my head. Maybe I’m just not used to it yet? What is your opinion on super setting in a public gym?

Today I had a sort of conflict at the gym; very minuscule. But still made me wonder if I acted out of line. There was this guy who had 2 barbells loaded with weights in the squat rack. Did some squats on one, then he did shrugs with the other bar, then moved across the gym to do cables and then stretched on a bench. He was super setting on all this equipment and after a bit of time when I had finished my exercise I went to his squat rack and stripped his bars to which he got very mad about stating he was using it. I told him you can’t claim 4 pieces of equipment at the gym at once and just took the squat rack and he walked away pissed off. Feel like I'm not gaining muscle

I have gained 10lb of weight in the last 6 months (130 - 140), and I have been lifting as well. I am seeing some fat accumulating around my stomach and maybe some muscle growth, however my lifts have not increased by much at all. I have not been following a strict gym routine, however I try to do a push pull legs every week, with about 15 sets per workout. Admittedly, I have skipped more leg sessions than not.
