Even though it would be wild—Kirby said she would love to try the HALO jump that Cruis

Training Calves: Every 3 Days vs. Everyday

I am curious about everyone opinion when it comes to training calves. I learned early in my fitness journey that a muscle needs 72 hours of rest before being able to train it again ( basically Monday body parts shouldn't be hit again until Wednesday to fully recovered. It isn't a perfect 72 hours but close). However, I have seen many in the bodybuilding community discuss the "stubbornness" of calves growth and how it benefit from everyday training. While I believe that because it is a smaller muscle, and the range of motion for exercises limited, it could benefit from everyday training, is this optimal? Weird knee "Injury" - No pain but throbbing

Hi all, I've been lifting/squatting for the past 18 months, and have so far had no injury issues at all. I have, however, recently started to develop a persistent "throb" on my inner knee. This seems to be caused by my squatting, as I can't think of any other exercise that may anger my knee. There is no pain accompanying this, but the throbbing is visible through the skin (which is a bit weird). Any ideas what this may be/possible solutions or course of action I should take? Advice appreciated. Can't be insecurity cause I mean, he's been announced the most aesthetically muscular man in the world. So I don't understand when they wear hoodies to the gym and hide all those muscles. Body no longer responds to caloric surplus

No matter if i eat 5000kcal or 6000kcal my weight and body look the same. Ive been climbing in calories and my body no longer responds like it used to when I’d jump up 1000 calories. I feel and look the same as if i were eating 4000kcal even though im at around 4800 right now. What can i do to get my body to be more responsive. I hate eating 5800; feel like shit. Deadlifts for physique athletes - what's the deal?

Hi! I'm looking to collect a few perspectives on this issue from serious, competitive physique athletes. Is it true that the fatigue::productive stress ratio on deadlifts does not justify their inclusion in the lifting programme of a post-novice physique athlete? Is it true that the productive stress generated by DLs are too "spread out" among all the posterior muscle groups to the point that it is more productive to spend the training time/energy on more sets of more slightly more isolating movements like rows/chins/shrugs? Does the fatigue from DLs make it significantly more difficult to squat with the frequency and volume required for a physique athlete to progress? The biggest pro-DL argument from physique-oriented lifters that I have heard is that it is the only truly quantifiable lift for the back (its too easy to cheat rows and chins), and that it is a big beefy compound with what should be a big carryover to back size/thickness, as well as the best moveme

Possibly tore my left pec?

Was doing 3rd set of barbell bench (not particularly heavy) and heard/felt a ripping sound in my left pec. I also felt it twitch super hard and cramp. It’s been about 4 hours and I’d rate the pain a 4/10. There’s no deformities or significant bruising, but it feels incredibly tender and more than just a typical strain I’ve had before. Thinking of giving it a few days before I go to the doctor. Anyone have similar experiences? Does this sound like something potentially serious? Kazakhstani Olympic Athlete Suspended Six Years after Olympic Competition

Natalya Ivoniskaya, now 33 years old, has been a 100 m hurdles specialist for the nation of Kazakhstan for years now, representing them at the Olympics since 2012. However, according to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Ivoniskaya will be suspended for competition provisionally – and potentially for up to four years – after her urine samples had been reanalyzed from those 2012 Olympics and found to have contained potential performance-enhancing drug substances. According to information released from the IOC, Ivoniskaya has provisionally tested positive for two different anabolic steroids. This test game six years after competition, and the announcement on October 29 of 2018 came as a bit of a shock to everyone in the Kazakhstan Olympic camp. Retesting this late in the game isn’t all that uncommon for the IOC, but it is pretty uncommon for someone to have been found to have been doping more than half a decade after competition – and even rarer that they would be provisionally

Bigger arms. Training every day vs 12-15 sets per week per group.

Hey guys — I was wondering if any of you had some information on training arms every day versus only doing 12-15 sets per week. A ton of anecdotes on here say train them every day for massive gains but then a lot science says anything above 10-12 sets of biceps and 12-15 sets of triceps per week is the maximum that can be done without over training. Another interesting piece of information is that some people claim that the increased “size” from training arms every day is just inflammation. Does anyone have thoughts on this?? How long to lose water weight after quitting creatine?

So I have to look my best in about two months. I’m currently taking creatine and it is helping me with my workouts and gains but it has made me look smooth like a balloon. Two Sandbag Workouts You Can Do in Less Than 30 Minutes

Image
Edgar Artiga If you've got an old duffel bag stashed in your closet and a sandbox in your backyard, you’re unknowingly sitting on a fitness goldmine. Throw a bunch of sand in the bag, zip it up, and you’ve created one of the greatest strength and conditioning tools known to man: a sandbag . “The sandbag isn’t just another free weight,” says Matthew Palfrey, a sandbag-training specialist in Sydney, Australia, and owner of Sandbag Fitness (sandbagfitnessstore.com). “Because of the constantly moving center of mass, you’ll have to fight hard to control the bag when using it. This develops great grip strength and stability. And when performing exercises overhead, you’ll need plenty of core strength to maintain your technique. It’s this simplicity that attracts many people to the sandbag, because you can get a lot of bang for your buck.” Ego alert: You won’t be able to use as much weight with a sandbag on a given exercise as you’d use for its barbell, dumbbell, or ma

Senior Project Help (Survey on Mental and Physical Health's Connection)

In my High School and many others seniors are required to complete a Graduation Project in order to graduate. Due to my love of lifting and fitness in general as well as its benefits on my mental health I decided to focus my project on the connection between mental and physical health. For this project I have written down a journal entry of each day for the past two months of what type of exercise I did and how my mood was throughout the day, hoping to find correlations. I have also taken along a friend, teaching him how to lift and noting how the lift made him feel throughout the day and to see if regular exercise helped his mood in general. In addition I have interviewed members at my gym whom I feel close enough to, noting their correlations in mood and exercise throughout their life. This is where you guys come in, if willing of course. I would love to have a wide range of people to answer a short survey on their physical exercise and how it has affected their mood overall, w

What’s something you like more about the physiques of modern day bodybuilders vs the golden era?

I would have to say cannonball delts. I’ll take golden era physiques over modern day pros any day of the week. But modern day pros have insanely nice shoulders. I’ve heard people on this sub say they don’t like overdeveloped delts. Even though symmetry is important, I’d have to say imo delts are the best looking muscle to have overdeveloped. quick question about creatine and acne

Hey I've been taking creatine monohydrate for about 3 months now and have broken out in acne because of it. I take 5 grams each day although only workout every 3 days, I'm really enjoying the gains but am wondering if I can try reduce this acne by taking creatine only every 3 days when I'm actually working out and if it will still have an affect on my gains. I appreciate an feed back and support you all have, thanks. Hey I've been taking creatine monohydrate for about 3 months now and have broken out in acne because of it. Should I continue cutting or start bulking?

I have been lifting weights for about 8/9 months, I've made some decent progress but I'm at a crossroads right now. I'm 21 yo, 6 ft and 147-150 lbs. I cut for about a month and a half and I lost about 5 lbs then about 3 weeks ago I got sick and couldn't eat/work out for 2 weeks and ended up losing about 9 lbs in just that 2 weeks. I'm back at it again now, but I don't know If I should continue cutting or start bulking. I feel kind of small compared to where I was at before the sickness and I haven't upped my bench in about 3 months. I wanted to be lean before bulking. I am lean right now (I can even see some veins in my oblique and lower stomach, shoulder...) But I still only barely see 2 abs (Still have a decent amount of fat in my stomach area and in my quadriceps) I could use your insight regarding my problem. Should I cut or bulk? Watch Strongman Brian Shaw Try to Eat 25,000 Calories in One Epic Cheat Day

Image
Brian Shaw, the four-time World’s Strongest Man , is an absolute wrecking ball in the gym, and all that training has lent itself to some pretty epic  cheat meals over the years. This time, though, the Colorado native took his cheat day to another level. To celebrate 250,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel, Shaw attempted to eat 25,000 calories in one day. As you’d expect, this wasn’t an easy one—even for a man that once ate a seven-pound burrito like it was a celery stalk. To reach that lofty 25,000 calorie mark, Shaw pounded burritos, burgers, pizza, donuts, and pretty much anything else he could get his hands on. He ultimately came up about 1,400 calories short after a valiant effort, but the whole thing is still a sight to behold.  Take a look for yourself: As he sat there, looking over those last few pints of Ben & Jerry's at the end of the video, a defeated Shaw admitted that he'll feel "pretty miserable tonight and now into tomorrow, unfortunately.&

About to start bulking, do my macros look correct?

Hi all, I'm about to start bulking and used this guide for my macro and calorie calculation, which based them off my lean body mass. My stats: Male 176 lbs, 20% bodyfat, LBM = 145 lbs I workout pretty hard about 6 days a week. My macros that I calculated: Protein: 144 g Fat: 94 g Carbs: 489 g Calories: 3378 The protein amount is 1 lb/lean body mass. It seems kind of low to me, yet again, I've always screwed up on my bulk and never got big for years. Are these numbers looking right? Is that protein amount too low or looking right? And holy shit, so many carbs??? Would love a second set of eyes for feedback. PS: I posted this on /r/gainit but got like 0 constructive advice. Pure cancer. Figured this community is more reliable haha Hi all,I'm about to start bulking and used this guide for my macro and calorie calculation, which based them off my lean body mass.My stats:Male176 lbs, 20% bodyfat, LBM = 145 lbsI workout pretty hard about 6 days a week.
