Training Calves: Every 3 Days vs. Everyday

I am curious about everyone opinion when it comes to training calves. I learned early in my fitness journey that a muscle needs 72 hours of rest before being able to train it again ( basically Monday body parts shouldn't be hit again until Wednesday to fully recovered. It isn't a perfect 72 hours but close). However, I have seen many in the bodybuilding community discuss the "stubbornness" of calves growth and how it benefit from everyday training. While I believe that because it is a smaller muscle, and the range of motion for exercises limited, it could benefit from everyday training, is this optimal?
