constant tension vs full range

Ok so im not talking about half reps, rather keeping constant tension on the muscle, instead of letting the muscle rest before performing another set. This should be better for hyperthropy than doing straight reps should it not? for example stopping right before touching the chest on bench and not pushing untill your arms are straight, and not going all the way up on squats, rather stopping short legs becoming straight taking the tension of the legs. ​ What do you guys think of this way of lifting? Having a hard time finding a program

I’m trying to cut and can’t find a good program. Where do you guys find lifting programs? Every time I google I just get bodybuilding.com programs which according to reddit are apparently all BS. My main priority is to prevent muscle imbalance, so a workout plan that utilizes a wide variety of workouts is best for me. I’m also cutting so something on that gets me lean. I found Stoppani’s 6-weeks to getting shred. 6 weeks seems like an awfully short time. What’s the consensus on this plan? If not, any alternatives? I’m trying to cut and can’t find a good program. New to body building

So, here goes, I'm 57 years old, almost 58, I was grossly overweight and last January I had a stroke in my brain stem. Luckily no lasting damage, but it did force me to re-think things while in hospital. I've since changed all my eating habits and found that I like working out at the gym. I'm more and more leaning to body building, but I found I don't know squat, even after reading everything I can find. Any thoughts and advice would be helpful. Just for history, I had a left shoulder replacement in '09, left knee replacement '18, and have rods in holding my lumbar together, it got crushed and fused in 1990. I've led an active life since then teaching martial arts (kung fu), but let myself go when I started doing office work. Again, any help or links would be awesome. Currently I work out my upper body, going to the gym every other day, but am going to start doing cardio on the off days. I've dropped 24 pounds since my stroke (245 down to 221lbs). So,

How fast am I supposed to increase strength?

Hi everyone, I want to have lean muscle, but when it comes to increasing the weight I can handle on the bench press or squat, i don’t know if I am making good, bad, or no progress at all. I started going to the gym regularly 8 months ago, before I couldn’t do even one push up, now I can bench press 3x8 135 pounds, and squat around 110 pounds 3x8 as well,when at the beginning all I had to do was body weight, and still, at the 20th squat I would be feeling that I need to stop to catch my breath. Is this good progress, or too slow? Does this mean am I doing something wrong? Let’s say 2 months have passed from now, how much more strength, a healthy 22 years old male, natural, 5’11, 206 of weight, is supposed to progress? How to change my routine to fit my goal ?

Hello everyone, Id like to preface this by saying sorry for the hard read. Ive been lifting for 2 years now, and want to know what im doing wrong or how to improve my lifing in order to meet my goals. Honestly I feel like I should have a better physic by now. My goal isnt to become bulky like God ( Arnold) but more of a muscle-ripped physic like zac efron in baywatch or even slightly less bulky(hate to use this example) ​ Im hitting the gym 5-6 times a week. 13-15 reps ( doing this bc of not wanting to get super bulky), 4 sets , 5-6 exercises per muscle Routine: Day1: Shoulders and Biceps Day 2: Chest and Triceps Day 3: Back Day 4: Abs and Legs ( Keeping this honest : Abs tend to be a little bit each day, sometimes heavy abs, sometimes no abs at all, im guessing i need to make it more reliable.) ​ Food: I eat mostly protein, but I dont eat excessively since Im not trying to get huge ( this could be changed). Yo, I’m 21, 6’3”, been working out/bodybuilding for 3-4 years now. My first year was spent more on upper body and then I realized I needed to do legs too. Since then I’ve been hitting legs hard; twice a week most of the time. Usually start with back or front squats and move to the usual leg day routine. I’ve worked from moving 225x6 to 315x6 but my legs still look like damn sticks. People ask me if I need help when I load 315 on the bar because my legs look so small. Mandatory Pose Wednesday - Front Lat Spread

Welcome back to MPW! NEXT WEEK'S POSE: Abdominal and Thigh Welcome back to another installment of Mandatory Pose Wednesday! Were hitting FLS today. 1) Place your feet approximately shoulder width apart, with your toes pointed out in a “V” shape. Rotate the knees outwards so they are over the feet. This should force the quads to contract. 2) Ball both your hands into a fist but leave the thumbs sticking out, resembling a “thumbs up” position. 3) Reach towards the bottom rear of your rib cage with your thumbs to lock your hands in place. Next rotate your hands so that the back of the hand is facing up, and the side fist is facing front. The trick with this is to make sure your elbows do not drift too far to the front. They still need to be pointed out to the sides to create the maximum illusion of width. 4) Pull your Lats out as wide as you can, while sticking your chest up and flexing the pectorals. What you are trying to create here is a dramatic “V” taper with your shoulder
