When you first began lifting what was the worst advice you got that you learned was completely BS as you progressed?

It’s annoying when I ask one simple question and then all of a sudden someone wants to tell me their entire back story, split, and bro science. Like dude I asked for you to tell me if I’m going parallel I didn’t ask you for a damn “bodybuilding for dummies.” audio book IRL. Well through asking questions / YouTube I learned how to properly lift in the past two years. Turns out a lot of the shit people told me were completely lies like I cannot go past my knees while squatting or someone even telling me lifting with a belt had to be lose so I wouldn’t compress my organs lmao. Curious what bullshit you guys have heard throughout the years!
