Can't get after it like I used to-- advice?
Hey everyone,
First time posting in this subreddit and am looking for some advice. I'm a 28 year old guy. Long story short, used to be overweight (~245 lbs), lost it back in 2013, was down to low 190's around from 2013-2015. I was able to keep my physique the first couple years of medical school (started in 2015). Now I'm finishing up my third year, and I just don't have the energy I used to. My weight is also back up to ~212. I used to be able to run 4-6 miles a day, stop at an outdoor park and do pull-ups and pushups and continue my run with ease; also could easily spend 1.5 hours-2 hours in the gym. Now after 45 minutes I feel fatigued and just don't have the mentality of wanting to stay in the gym and really get after it. I think that stress from school and always feeling like I need to study has had a lot to do with it...
But I want to get back to where I used to be. My current "pre-workout" is nothing but a couple cups of black coffee, which has worked in the past. I have tried preworkouts in the past and have had good results, but their effect wears off after about a week; with school and studying I do have a pretty high tolerance for caffeine, haha. I want to feel like I have limitless energy like I used to; I was cut and had a great six pack (I still do have a pretty good one) with a nice taper. I want to lose that weight I've put on over the past couple years. Can anyone recommend any powerful supplements I can purchase that may help get that "inner fire" back? I'd really appreciate any input. Thanks!
TL; DR: used to be able to workout hard and felt like I had limitless energy. Now I fatigue faster and don't have the mental toughness to really get after it. Please help!
